Life Cut is an experimental project of creating a movie using a collection of self-consistent videoclips, by Fabio Di Donato and Alessandra Mosca
The movie features a surreal fantasy story about mankind, its past, present and destiny - it's about space and time travels, the earth, the animals, our relationship with the environment, history, philosophy, religion, science and science fiction, love, birth and death
Various narrative levels represents the human history from different angles, perspectives and times.
There's no main character here, mankind itself speaks through the voices of Woody Allen and Diane Keaton, Peter Sinfield, James Burke, David Attenborough, Carl Sagan, Severn Cullis Suzuki and others
This movie is a mush up of more than 100 hundred different sources, creating a musical composition of paintings pictures movies songs documentaries and samples
Music ranges from classical to ambient and trip-hop
This is an open to collaboration and always evolving project - we'd love to hear your voice, comments, suggestions and whatever :-)

Life Cut è un film musicale, concettuale, sperimentale, completamente indipendente, dove si intrecciano tecniche di stop-‐motion e remix di film e documentari; si tratta di una riflessione espressiva sullo stato e lo scopo della specie umana in forma di videoarte, una narrazione in forma di videoclip e colonna sonora che spazia dal trip-‐hop all'house a rocky horror picture show. La musica è protagonista, fluisce dalle immagini fino a confondere i sensi, che non riescono più a scindere il punto preciso in cui inizia l’immagine e finisce la musica. L’occhio e l’orecchio si confondono in quella che finisce per diventare una sinfonia in forma di immagine e una descrizione visiva impressa nel suono. Ma sopra e al di là della fascinazione per la forma, è il messaggio di Life Cut ad emergere dirompente: cosa ne stiamo facendo del nostro mondo, e cosa ne rimarrà se la specie umana non si rende conto di essere tutt’uno con la natura, e che distruggendola non fa altro che condannare se stessa.
